County Recorder Andrew O. Brenner is Something Else

Seriously, It’s time to get rid of Delaware County Recorder Andrew Oran Brenner from public office.

Let’s start with the facts that over time we’ve come to dislike Brenner as a public office holder and the more time we are confronted with his ignorance and baseless pomposity the more disgusting he becomes. Too bad if you are a Brenner fan; he doesn’t improve with age or marriage.

The joke around town has always been how the Republican Party is so internally vicious that they eat their young. It had to be that way to support the characters that the DCRP installed in office in Delaware County. Now we see the ultimate in political fratricide, DCRP-style. Delaware County Recorder Andrew Oran Brenner wants to be something else. Sort of like a pre-op transgender surgery candidate having an attitude that although I might know what God made, I really want to be something else; a boy – or a girl, whatever the case may be.

Perennial candidate and current Delaware County Recorder Andrew Oran Brenner is what he is and he is terribly dissatisfied. He wants both the DCRP and the voters in this county to provide the political nips and tucks he wants to change him into something he is not and is not equipped to be. By his own writings, County Recorder Andrew Oran Brenner wants to be “…President of the United States…”, County Commissioner, County Auditor, State Senator, State Representative, or as he writes on his general purpose all office campaign website “…a Representator[sic]…” whatever the hell that is.

His qualifications for any office are seriously lacking yet he was, as he puts it “…not only been elected, but was also overwhemlmingly[sic] re-elected…” as if that sad fact qualifies him for anything. Brenner’s assertion that first being elected smacks the Republican elite in Delaware County like a fresh, wet loogey from the DCRP’s former Finance Chairman. Brenner insinuates that he is somehow better than Jon Peterson, Dave Yost, Jan Antonoplos, Todd Hanks of Delaware County who were not first elected but rather appointed to their public offices.

It seems as if poor old Gavel Boy is getting kicked squarely in his political nuts by omni-candidate, Delaware County Recorder Andrew Oran Brenner despite Brenner’s apparently false statements on his website where he indicated he would not step in front of incumbent State Rep Jordan for the 2nd Ohio House District seat or challenge Jordan in a primary. That statement is overwhelmingly proved false by Brenner’s gratuitous letter to the editor in Monday’s Delaware Gazette and a recent e-mail launching an unqualified and unequivocal run for State Rep, disregarding Jordan’s status as its current occupant. It’s funny that he always begs for cash notwithstanding that he has more than three years to go on his current term as County Recorder. Maybe there weren’t enough Visa cash cards in the wedding gift pile.

Brenner is long known for stupidity and treachery. Who can forget the infamous F**k You web pages County Recorder Brenner made for the losing Evans commissioner campaign? It is well known that Brenner fabricated lies and defamatory statements and criminal allegations against private citizens and other candidates in recent primary election contests. Brenner’s tactics include outright lies and horribly bigoted attacks on a candidate and supporters. Brenner’s candidate in that race confirmed that Brenner was the originator of the hate and bigotry that provided the nexus of yet another losing campaign by Brenner.

It’s simple. Brenner should resign now. The DCRP, like it did to a former judge, should declare him “unfit for office” and demand he step down to allow them to appoint someone interested in public service as the County Recorder.

If he doesn’t resign then they should find a worthwhile candidate to replace him in the next primary election. Under no circumstance should Brenner ever be endorsed or supported by the DCRP. Disloyalty is an inbred trait he cannot shake and he will never be loyal to the voters, his party or his peers in office if he can exploit an opportunity by being disloyal. Look how he treated one of his earliest and staunchest supporters; some say the person who got him into public office. Brenner is the mangy dog that bites the hand that fed him. Too bad for the DCRP that it is entertaining to watch but come on now, seriously, how long are you all gonna put up with Andy Oran.

Delaware County Republicans rewarded Delaware County Recorder Brenner with his job under the theory that he would do little harm and that they could watch and control is exasperating personality that reeks with a Napoleonic Complex syndrome and squeaky voice.
He is a creature of political expediency much like Dr. Frankenstein’s monster that got the villagers all pissed-off. Sadly, for us villagers, this ain’t a Mary Shelley novel or a Hollywood movie and Delaware County Recorder Andrew Oran Brenner is the political Frogenstein that the DCRP has given us.

It’s time for the DCRP to decide to whether it’s political pitchforks and torches from the villagers or getting rid of their political Frogenstein on their own. Their choice, but they should know that pissed-off villagers aren’t often too worried about collateral damage when the political torches and pitchforks are flying about.
